Healing through energy work

The body is energetic in nature – thousands of years of yoga have proved this beyond all doubt. Ancient maps of the body’s highly advanced ‘energy system’ were drawn out in great detail and the yogis/rishis were able to bring about great healings – and even miraculous cures – in those who sought their help.

Today, quantum science tells us the same thing, in its own language.  We are 99% space and that our ‘reality’ is nothing but an illusion.

However, that illusion is so persistent and so ‘real’ to us that we forget this whenever we encounter pain.  We immediately forget who we are (perhaps we’ve never truly known because of our conditioning) and we run, in fear, to the pharmacist and doctor.

There is a belief that Pharma medicine will fix our health problems and that we can then go back to the same lifestyle and habits we’ve been unconsciously following before.  Yet, deep down, we know this is not true.

We have to face our pain – and move through it.

The famous ancient Sufi mystic Rumi once said, ‘the cure for the pain is in the pain.’

Many years ago, I found Reiki – or, rather, I would say that Reiki found me when I was going through a very rough ride, and when my father was critically ill.

For those who have never experienced any form of energy healing, Reiki can be said to be the invisible energy or ‘ki’ flows from the Unmanifest (within you and me) to the physical.  Indeed, deep emotional, mental and physical healings can occur when we consciously contact this healing power from within.

Reiki, whilst becoming ever more popular (despite the abundance of naysayers and skeptics and the so-called scientific proof that it “doesn’t work”) is not the only form of energy medicine, or energy work.  However, it is definitely one of the most accessible, requiring nothing more than our hands and a willingness to heal ourselves and others.

Alongside Reiki, we also have many other entry points into healing including yoga, spiritual response therapy, acupuncture, bowen technique, Jin Shin Do, osteopathy, tai ch’i, (silent) sitting meditation, mindfulness and others – all of these are looking to address the whole person.  For me, those which are more centred on that which we can simply call ‘Being’ are the most powerful.

In my time as an intuitive, I’ve found that you simply cannot separate or compartmentalise true healing from your life situation.  If you just take a drug to fix the physical problem and/or have surgery and you are still at odds with your life situation, you will be running negative energy that will — sooner or later — express itself as an injury or an illness elsewhere.  You simply recreate the dysfunction because it’s a signal to yourself to ‘wake up’.

Even if you do manage to solve the problem through physical means alone, you can mainly feel fragmented.  So you ‘win’ but you also ‘lose’ at the same time.

Material science doesn’t address the pervasive issue of Soul fragmentation, which is why people who understand that the journey is critical will seek out more than just meds.

Pharma, of course, would like you to continue to believe that their solutions work all or most of the time, and that you can just buy your way out of illness or injury.  But you can’t.

Not really.

You have to do the inner work to truly heal yourself.  If you are in the valley of despair, you cannot pretend to be singing on top of the mountain.

A conscious therapist can help you awaken to your pain and help you move through it.

The question remains, however, how do you know who is conscious enough to facilitate a real healing in your own journey of awareness?

A real healer will have walked the path of fire, and gone through some very personal tests, having to ‘taste their own medicine’ as it were.  They will have a certain depth to them.  They may be friendly but they won’t talk incessantly, and they won’t use complex labels and terminology to bamboozle you.

A therapist or doctor who has never truly looked at themselves in the mirror will be identified with labels and concepts, and analyse you from a very limited standpoint.  Some may even make you feel like a sentient piece of meat, rather than a spiritual being.

There may be times you need immediate help through drugs and/or surgery but this should be reserved for acute situations only.  Past this acute stage, you run the risk of your energetic nature destabilising further, and your physical body ‘mirroring’ that destabilisation. This means you will go onto other drugs and perhaps need further surgeries. Worst of all, your energy will remain in a very depleted state.  Your mind will also be affected by all of this, remaining in a gloomy/depressed or restless state.

Painful relationship breakups, financial stresses, worries about your health, your parents’ health or children’s health, conflicts at work or home, can cause heavy emotions to get embedded into the matrix of your energy body.  Over time, these heavy emotions work their way into the cellular structure of your body and express as illness and pain.

If you are running any of the following common ‘energies’ – fear, disappointment, failure, grief, doom and gloom, anxiety, low self-esteem, panic, restlessness – these will be interrupting the cellular communication of your body.  They will also often lead to addictive thoughts and behaviours to counteract the imbalance of your own mind.

You can only dissolve these energies by becoming more Conscious of your True Self, that which is formless, timeless and deathless.  Or, a conscious healer will be able to ‘shine a light’ on what is really going on, helping you to surface the more painful parts of your life, so you can just let them go.  Once you hold something with full awareness, you can just drop it.

If you continue to ignore or suppress what’s going on, then the unconscious part of your mind will run your life.

It will seem that you are ‘at the effect’ of your life situation, rather than ‘at cause’.

Nobody willingly creates illness or injury or pain… these simply arise because we are asleep or unconscious, and this is life’s way of waking us up.  After all, we tend to ignore our spirit when everything is going well, when we have our health, financial wealth and so on.

People turn to prayer and meditation when they are not doing well.  They are seeking to reconnect to their wholeness.

But, be warned, this is not a ‘quick fix’, which works overnight.  Often there is a journey from the valley of despair to the peak of triumph, deep wisdom and understanding.

Energy work should, I feel, at least be part of everyone’s approach to well-being.  By all means take any physical action you need to – exercise, eat right foods, drink water, take prescription drugs where absolutely necessary, have surgery (especially if you can find an enlightened surgeon) to help restore integrity to a damaged or failing part of the body, and so forth.

Yet the persistent failure to address our energetic nature is one of the primary causes for the disillusionment we are seeing worldwide with our ‘health care’ systems, with the daily increase in prescription drugs and surgeries, and the yo-yoing back and forth between states of wellness and sickness.  This only helps the shareholders of the Pharmaceuticals, who couldn’t care less about your well-being.

Isn’t it time we finally addressed the causative levels of our ill health?

A purely materialistic approach will never recognise the energetic nature of our Being, so don’t wait for ‘scientific proof’.

Explore the healing path and YOU will be the proof.

The true yoga of thousands of years ago was strongly focused on the energetic and spiritual nature of our bodies.  This empirical science understood the deep wisdom of the body and the healing power of the Spirit.

Right now, today, it’s time for us to reclaim our power once again and go deeper into the Self.  We cannot afford to wait a moment longer.
