Jaime is the founder and director of Energy Therapy, and has been an active Reiki Master and Spiritual Mentor/Teacher in the field of Energy Medicine and Spiritual Healing since 2004. Jennifer is the co-founder and managing director of Energy Therapy, an active Reiki Master, Yoga Teacher and Reflexologist. Together this dynamic duo bring a diverse array of energy-based skills, and ever deepening awareness to the practice of yoga and living mindfully.
Jaime and Jennifer began seriously exploring yoga in mid 2009, when Jennifer invited him to try out a “Hot Bikram Yoga” class nearby. Since then, they have both gone on to explore Yin Yang, Hot Flow, Hatha and Meditation, Jivamukti, and other styles to develop their personal yoga practice and teaching, and thus deepen their awareness of how yoga can help transform consciousness.
From early childhood, I have always been fascinated by the concept that we are energy beings experiencing through a physical body and thus can heal body and mind through addressing imbalances in the energy field. I now use my energy skills to keep myself in balance and assist others in their own healing journeys.
I love the work I do and feel passionate about sharing this applied knowledge with others. I receive tremendous joy in helping others find what they have been searching for in their lives and helping to heal that which keeps them from following their highest potential and life’s work.
My current role as a healer and teacher is not something I initially saw myself doing since, in 2002, I was working for a successful internet company in Central London and felt that life was going extremely well for me on practically all fronts. However, a series of testing life situations in 2003 forced me to re-evaluate my life choices on many different levels and this ultimately led me to Reiki.
Of these tests, the major ones included the relocation of the media company I was working for, trouble with neighbours, and a road traffic accident which caused nerve damage along the spinal column.
The final straw came when my dad, a pharmacist by profession, lost consciousness and collapsed at a local Primary Care Trust meeting. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and was later diagnosed with a bleed in the frontal lobe of the brain. It wasn’t certain whether he would live but he regained consciousness after several days in the intensive care unit and began the slow and arduous recuperation process that follows a major life-changing episode like this.
The many months that followed were a difficult time for myself and my family but it set me on an intense period of training in Reiki and other forms of energy healing. I was guided onto the spiritual path from a young age through my practice of yoga and martial arts as well as being a keen reader of numerous spiritual texts that highlighted the unity of body, mind and spirit. I developed the firm belief throughout the application of my non-academic studies and practices throughout my life that body and mind were unquestionably and intricately linked, and that there was something incredible and wonderful that could heal both.
I felt drawn to learn about energy healing from two Reiki Masters who had a profound effect on my own life, encouraging me to explore my own unique gifts, and I was able to experience, first-hand, the powerful effects of Reiki healing, both distant and ‘hands-on’, and witness the remarkable improvements in my own health and my father’s physical, emotional and mental condition. Additionally, my father did not believe in Reiki at all.
Today, my father is in radiant health and has tried other complementary therapies such as acupuncture, whilst I have healed my own body and feel better physically, mentally and emotionally than at any other time in my life. The nerves along my spine are working perfectly, everything is aligned, my back muscles feel strong and supple, and I have none of the stress, mental anxiety, or depression that I had before. I feel renewed in both body and mind, content with life and filled with joy.
Since becoming a Reiki master, I have continued to develop my awareness and grow spiritually. I have been guided to study with many, gifted souls and learn about other powerful forms of energy healing. In particular, I feel incredibly blessed to have learnt and integrated Spiritual Response Therapy into my daily spiritual healing practice, which has in turn helped me to recognise and fulfill my innermost desires in a way that is balanced and in harmony with my life purpose.
In embracing all of these opportunities, it has brought many blessings to myself and others in ways that have reinforced my belief in the absolute wonder of the universe, and the gifts that life brings us. I believe that we must all learn to trust ourselves and the process of life again, and humbly follow our unique paths step by step, listening to our wisdom within.
When I am not seeing clients or teaching, I love singing and playing the guitar and didgeridoo, taking walks in the local parks and countryside, and surfing and ski-ing whenever I can! I love to salsa dance with my wife, and enjoy practising Jivamukti yoga, Hot Vinyasa Flow yoga, and Meditative Hatha Yoga.
I have always had an interest in complementary therapies and was fortunate enough to grow up in a family which strongly believed in the power of prayer and regularly used a complementary approach to solving health issues long before it became commonplace to do so.
As an adult, I am committed to daily yoga and spiritual practice and love sharing my ever-deepening knowledge with my clients and students around the world. I have practiced a wide variety of styles of yoga, and find this a great joy and support in my life. It is a great way to shift energy, and my favourite would have to be a combination of lyrical, but strong vinyasa flow, with yin and restorative!
My belief in energy healing and spirituality began when I was very young. With influences from many teachings, it is very much rooted in the Baha’i Faith and continues to grow and expand each moment of my life. I am thankful to my family for teaching me to question, and to trust, from a very young age. I grew up immersed in spirituality and holistic therapy as a way of life since a child, and have continued to develop this through my professional career as a Reflexologist, Reiki Master, Yoga and Indian Champissage teacher.
My experiences growing up in Baha’i Communities in both the U.K and in Swaziland, a small country in Southern Africa, have nurtured my awareness of the oneness of life and encouraged me to explore spirituality in my own unique way.
We all have experiences that, upon reflection, really have helped shape our lives. One of these defining periods of my life was, when I was teenager living in Swaziland. Although from a comfortable background, we did not always know where our next meal was coming from, and we really had to trust that Spirit/God would provide! This did not deflect our spirit and only served to deepen the trust I have in the Universe. The miracles I witnessed in this period as a result of prayer and intention were the first of many, and I feel privileged as an adult, to demonstrate this time and again in times of need.
I truly believe, we all have a great power at our finger tips if we choose to trust in a power much greater than ourselves and direct our attention accordingly.
I have always been interested in what inspires each of us to be the best that we can be in life, and this focus is what has led me to my current work, my passion and my joy.
I began my search for this like many, in the pursuit of academic study, Psychology & Environmental Studies (BSc) and International Development (MSc). However it was not the studies or these career pathways that really connected me to life. It was through working and volunteering with children, through service to my community, and ultimately my personal commitment to spiritual growth and to sharing that with the world, that really connected me to the power, meaning and joy that life brings.
I have come to realise that there are many approaches to understanding human behaviour and the human spirit, and that our thoughts, feelings and emotions have a direct impact on our day to day health, or lack of it.
Our most difficult moments can provide us with invaluable insights to understanding ourselves better, but we often need a friendly ear to listen to us (or a ‘kick’ from the universe!) to help us understand the lesson and see a new perspective.
I constantly apply the values gained from my life experience to my work as an energy healer, teacher and therapist. Energy work provides a powerful platform for self-empowerment, ultimately leading to greater health and joy in all areas of one’s life.
I invite you to experience the power of energy work in order to tap into your inner wisdom, and I hope that here at Energy Therapy we can play a part in inspiring you to be the best that you can be!
