Energy Medicine & The Journey To An Awakened State of Consciousness

Energy healing modalities like Reiki, for example, and meditative practices like Yoga and Tai Ch’i are powerful doorways to awakening and healing in the true sense of the word.

Instead of masking symptoms by taking meds or having invasive surgeries to ‘cut out’ everything that isn’t working in the body, there is a chance to heal properly by following a path of wisdom that honours the soul and spirit.

‘Woo woo’ and ‘pseudo science’ are just two of the commonly hurled insults ignorantly directed at those who are working diligently in the field of energy medicine and having fabulous results!

Yet, the funny thing is that if you look at the term ‘woo woo’, it means ‘any belief not founded on good evidence’ — so by that standard, many medical drugs used today and less-than-helpful medical practices with appalling ‘success’ rates such as chemotherapy should be placed in this category.

When more people wake up to the truth, then they will surely realise they were simply dreaming a dream… or perhaps trapped in a nightmare!

Waking up to this paradigm is wonderfully liberating because we will no longer be trapped by limited beliefs and distorted perceptions that disconnect us from each other, and from true healing.

To begin with, you must learn to put aside your preconceived beliefs – whether negative or positive – and allow yourself to explore through personal experience.

Someone once said that good observation is good science, and it’s absolutely true! Empirical evidence, and following one’s own insights that come from experience, is much more powerful than the reductionist approach that materialistic science has duped most people into believing.

Intellect alone is a big trap.

Consider the following scenarios: if you had a life-threatening illness in your body for a long time and it suddenly disappeared, or you had tremendous pain and the pain reduced suddenly without meds after ‘energy healing’, you surely wouldn’t need to go and read the info on Reiki or Pranic Healing on the internet to prove it’s ‘real’, would you?  No!

Nor would you need to get into a long debate with someone else about whether or not the ‘energy healing’ really caused your turnaround in health.  What would be the point of that?

I find those who religiously follow the Western model of sickness and disease are often hypocritical. The materialistic skeptic wants you to believe that if you take a drug, then it has a certain measurable effect – and that it’s certainly not placebo, or ‘woo woo’. Yet the evidence is clear that if you don’t believe in a drug, it will have less chance of positively affecting you than if you do believe in it. And many times drugs fail to have an intended effect… when that happens, it’s just casually shrugged off as an anomaly.

When energy healing is effective at treating serious disease, the negative skeptic will be quick to impress their foregone conclusions upon others — not to mention disparaging insinuations about the integrity of the energy medicine practitioner! They will assert that the effects are ‘placebo’… and that the energy practitioner is ‘selling snake oil’ (or something similar).

Maybe it was something you ate? Maybe you weren’t so ill anyway? What could it be? Surely it couldn’t be down to that bizarre nonsense that has nothing to do with “real” science?

Client testimonials over the years have been tremendously positive, so why does an entrenched mainstream establishment keep writing them off as having no serious real-life application in treating illness and disease? Could it be fear?  Or could it be that there is no money in it, at least not much compared to the trillions generated through the current model?  Could it be both of these, and more?

In fact, energy healing has no limits it seems!  It can be conducted remotely from thousands of miles away…

“My pain was 90% relieved that same day. It was truly astonishing. A week later it’ss about 99% gone with only occasional stiffness. In fact, my whole physical structure is being reorganized around this miraculous experience..!” LF

Not all scientists and doctors are blinkered and dogmatic, but those that recognise and validate alternative approaches are still in the vast minority, and their hands are tied most of the time.

For those interested in seeking out compelling scientific evidence that proves energy medicine works — aside from personal experience — I recommend Lynne McTaggart’s groundbreaking books ‘The Field’ and ‘The Intention Experiment’, as well as physicist Russell Targ‘s immensely knowledgeable book, ‘The Reality of ESP’, all of which both delve much more deeply into this area.

Overall, it is safe to say that there are hundreds of knowledgeable, grounded and effective energy therapists out there, including myself and my wife – and we have all spent countless numbers of hours studying the subtle energetics of the body-mind; we have walked our talk, and we have taken many people from a place of little hope to a place of immense possibilities!

Often our own life challenges and health challenges have been the catalyst to propel us to look more deeply at the status quo, and look beyond it… to discover the real truth of ‘alternative health’ and ‘energy medicine’.

Could it be there are still many hidden agendas as well as Big Money interests preventing a mass shift towards alternative health and energy medicine?

Could it be that the paradigm shift required is so vast that disbelief from materially-minded doctors and scientists continues to block any serious enquiry?

We need to consider the bigger picture if we are to truly move forward.

My advice to those reading this, particularly those who are new to the understanding of the body as ‘energy’, is to try energetic and/or alternative approaches to health with an open mind to see if any of them work for you! Some may be more effective than others, depending on where you are in your health journey.. and you may resonate with a particular approach and/or practitioner more than another. Trust yourself!

Realistically, you will probably need to have more than one energy session, particularly if you have a chronic condition, or you go in holding an entrenched belief that ‘this doesn’t work’.

Be careful that your own mind is not blocking your own good. The mind IS powerful… why else would the Buddha remind us that ‘all is mind’. The placebo effect points to this fact!

If you wish to find a teacher/healer — wherever you might be in the world — first look to see if they are embodying their teachings?  Are they having good results with their clients and students overall?  Are they empowering them? Are they able to answer your questions with ease, and help you feel good in the process?

What does your intuition say?

Whilst no one is perfect, I have found there must be a genuine commitment to the journey of self-realisation before one can effectively teach others – else it will surely be a case of the blind leading the blind.

Moving energy through the body for healing changes the total ‘energy system’, especially if this is done frequently. As the cells vibrate at higher frequencies, one loses the desire to ingest low frequency foods and drink, and old, negative patterns of behaviour will eventually fall away.

If you believe you are simply a product of your conditioning (parental, societal, cultural and/or religious), and have no real sense of your larger reality beyond your conscious mind (i.e. you have lost awareness of the Higher Self), then you will continue to think the same thoughts, and do the same things, even when those thoughts and actions cause yourself and others harm.

On the other hand, when you are able to tune back into natural rhythms of being, sensing and doing, then you will begin to enjoy life and thrive, rather than just existing!

From teaching and mentoring students on the spiritual path for well over a decade now, I’ve found that passively learning does not shift one’s energy and vibration that much – occasionally it does, but mainly it does not. An active spiritual practice, repeated with full conscious awareness, is required to allow these seeds of higher awareness to germinate and eventually bloom. Knowledge has to become ‘knowing’, or it is not personal truth.

Esoteric schools and teachers exist for a reason, so do your research and take advantage of the tremendous opportunity before you. Where there is darkness, there is the opportunity to shine a light and dispel it.

Be true to yourself when exploring this path – your inner voice will speak to you clearly in the moment you are ready to receive it.

Totally agree with all that you have said Jaime,in addition I would like to add that although we can do many things ourselves in raising our energy vibrations there is nothing like a group therapy setting like the ones you offer for really getting to grips with the reality of Consciousness/ Energy Vibration etc than TO EXPERIENCE it ALL for yourself
.Not only that but a collective energy force is much more powerful as the whole group tap into the unified field, you can feel/ sense/ know how we are all connected and how powerful Energy Work actually is.Of course many of us can do this ourselves but I prefer the group sessions as the energy effects are not only stronger but last longer once we get back to our physical reality.

Thank you for your insightful comments Linda. I totally agree with you that ‘group energy work’ is extremely powerful as the collective healing energy is magnified exponentially. Blessings!

Hello Rosa, I understand that life can be a struggle sometimes – but struggle means growth, seen in right context. Life should not always be a struggle since the purpose of life is to create through joy – but a great reason for humanity’s present struggle is that people often value things over spiritual learning. For example, I have personally seen many with low(er) incomes buy a $600 iPhone or $1000 HD TV on credit but balk at the idea of spending $250 on a course or workshop that would immeasurably impact their life on many different levels… so the first issue to be addressed is surely what is seen as valuable? Secondly, most Reiki masters charge very reasonable fees, I find. Long gone are the days where fees were extremely high/excessive. As well, don’t forget that often Reiki Masters are charging for their time and energy in preparing and delivering courses, creating handout material, supporting and mentoring students over long periods of time. A lot of energy goes into it and a Reiki master is usually self-employed, which means he/she has many costs. Without financial income, that person will no longer be able to continue to devote himself/herself to serving others. Many other ‘professionals’ charge for their services – and if energy healing is going to be honoured, then the world must also learn to support spiritual work. If finances are truly tight for a prospective student, the invitation is to find a way to save a little each month to put towards the course. If needs are genuine and the student really cannot afford to pay the lump sum upfront, a Reiki master may choose to offer a monthly payment plan and/or give a discount. The real question is, will ‘Spirit’ be put first. Having faced extreme financial pressures, I know that the Universe supplies our needs when we ask… we just have to trust and the way will be shown. Ask, and it is truly given. Blessings!

I totally agree, we are on a path a journey guided first by our belief system and as we progress things become clear. Certain things/ experiences can’t be written down , it simply has to be experience it by oneself to know its full essence
