It is because we usually perceive our world through ordinary consciousness that we appear to be separate from each other. Of course, on one level that is a true statement… at the level of gross matter, if I cut my hand with a knife, my hand bleeds, not yours. However, that is not the Ultimate Reality because at the level of ‘energy’ or ‘vibration’, nothing is separate from anything else.

What is exciting to understand is that we have the ability to access this non-local ‘field’ of consciousness through heightened states of awareness, or superconsciousness. We can tap into an aspect of the Higher Mind, which sees, knows and governs all.

Since we are extensions of Non-Physical Source Energy, our subtle nervous system has the capacity to transcend the constraints of our physical time-space reality and retrieve “non local” information from ‘the Field’. If we can access this consciously, we can work with it to great effect, to heal ourselves and others.

Often people begin to have an expanded sense of awareness, and consequently a greater self of Self, when they begin to practice meditation, yoga, t’ai chi, dowsing or some other energetic discipline that helps them tune back into their natural state of connectedness to Source/Spirit. For the persons whose senses have been ‘land locked’ this can be quite a revelation!

A person’s body can be located in three-dimensional space by identifying coordinates that place it somewhere on the Earth’s surface, using longitude and latitude. Similarly Earth, in turn, can be located in three dimensional space in relation to the sun and other planets.

However, instead of taking the standard third dimensional approach, the location of another person’s ‘body’ can be found through a refined attribute of consciousness which is simply a combination of thought and feeling. One simply intends to connect, and holds that person ‘in thought’. Then, through the laws of harmonic resonance, our consciousness will ‘find’ theirs.

We can all learn to do this – it is merely a question of developing this latent ability. However, some people do find it easier than others – if you have developed an ‘overthinking’ mind, this will often get in the way of receiving non-local, subtle information because this sort of receptivity exists in the space between thoughts!

Russell Targ, physicist and author of many books on the reality of ESP, was a pioneer in the development of the laser, and co-founder of the Stanford Research Institute’s investigation into psychic abilities during the 1970s and 1980s. I highly recommend his book Limitless Mind: A Guide to Remote Viewing and Transformation of Consciousness to those interested in exploring the subject further.

In the vast majority of cases, I’ve found there is a high success rate for many presenting conditions, much more so than conventional medical approaches which tend to mask symptoms. However, it must be said that sometimes there will not be an immediate shift in the condition of the client because each case is unique and there is no way of knowing the outcome in advance…. but, when it comes down to it,  no doctor or healer can guarantee a particular result, can they?! Think about it!

One of the greatest deceptions of modern medicine today is its insistence that it can predict healing outcomes – i.e. this drug produces that result – even when clinical trials repeatedly demonstrate low success rates. We happily ignore this fact, and go on our almost blind faith in the ‘medicine’ we are offered. How much of modern medicine’s ‘healing’ results are down to the power of placebo I wonder? Not something Big Pharma would like to admit anytime soon!

The other myth of modern drugs is that they can target a particular part, or system of the body. The truth is, they can’t… the body is holographic by nature, so that when you affect one part, it causes a cascade of effects that affect the whole. This is why drugs often have multiple side effects and complex interactions with other drugs.

True, authentic energy work offers a way to transcend the limitations of the material plane of consciousness by working at all levels of a person’s health simultaneously: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual/energetic. This is a wonderful way to restore wholeness and harmony to the entire being, something that our clinical, fragmented approaches to health regularly fail to do, leaving people feeling empty and powerless to effect real change in their lives.
